Color Tools

Privacy Policy

The short version: every tool runs in your browser, your colors and images never leave your device, and there are currently no analytics and no ads. The details are below.

Summary

Color Tools is built so that your data stays yours. The colors you enter and the images you open are processed entirely on your device and never leave it. This site currently uses no analytics and shows no ads. The sections below spell out exactly what that means and what would change if that ever changes.

Local processing

Every tool on color-tools.org is implemented in JavaScript that runs in your browser. When you open an image in the color picker or the palette extractor — via the file dialog, drag and drop, or paste — the file is read locally by your browser and rendered on your own machine. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else; there is no server-side processing at all, so we could not see your images even if we wanted to. The same applies to every color value you type, convert, compare or check.

Data stored on your device

Some tools remember things for your convenience: saved colors, recent picks, and preferences such as the light or dark theme. This data is stored in your browser’s localStorage under keys that start with ct-. It stays on your device, is not synced or transmitted anywhere, and you can delete it at any time by clearing site data for color-tools.org in your browser settings (usually under Privacy or Site settings).

Analytics

This site currently uses no analytics of any kind — no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting. We do not know who you are or which tools you use.

Advertising

There are currently no active ads on this site. To keep the tools free, Google AdSense may be enabled in the future. If that happens: Google, as the advertising provider, may process data such as your IP address and your interactions with ads, as described in Google’s own privacy policies; visitors in the EU, EEA and UK will first see a Google-certified consent dialog and can decline personalized ads; and the site’s ads.txt file will identify the publisher account. This page will be updated before any ads go live.

Hosting and server logs

color-tools.org is served as static files from a web server. Like practically any web server, the hosting infrastructure may keep brief technical logs — including IP addresses and requested URLs — for security and operations, for example to detect abuse or diagnose outages. These logs are not used to profile visitors.

Your rights

If you have questions about your data, or want to exercise rights you have under applicable law such as the GDPR, email contact@color-tools.org. Because the tools do not send us your data in the first place, there is usually nothing for us to hand over or delete — but we will answer either way.

Changes to this policy

If the site’s behavior changes — for example, if advertising is introduced — this page will be updated first. Last updated: July 26, 2026.
